Tiktikan Lake is a beauty in itself. It has placid turquoise waters encircled by thick verdant limestone forest. Serenity and peace abound the place. I went to the view deck to take a wider glimpse of the entire view of the place. It was a place of tranquility. It was like a cure to a drowsy eye and a comfort to a weary heart. Communing with nature at its finest.
According to our tour guide, there are 13 lakes in the entire town of Socorro. Out of the thirteen lakes, only three are accessible including Tiktikan Lake. The three lakes are connected to the sea by underground channels and are reputed to shelter the highly endangered salt-water crocodile.
